Begonia Double Pink

Description

Begonia Double Pink tubers are amongst the largest you can get. Double begonia Pink has bright gorgeous pink blooms. Begonias work well  when planted in borders or containers and Double Begonia pink brightens up the summer garden.

Cultivation Instructions

Plant outdoors: Alternatively they can be plant direct into containers or borders outside from April on-wards. Soils should be well cultivated to a fine crumb and the tubers planted with the top just showing above the soil level.

If planting in pots use a 50/50 mix of multi purpose compost and something similar to John Innes number 2 to provide good drainage. Begonias have a long flowering period which starts in July and goes right through the summer.

Growing Tips:

It is often difficult to tell which way up to plant begonias but the stems will appear from the rough or concave side of the bulb.

Begonias can be lifted after flowering and stored in frost free areas for planting the following spring. Dust with yellow sulphur to help with storage. Start off with root grow or bulb starter.

Flowering period: July to first frosts

Planting time: January to March Indoors. April on wards outside.

Soil type: All free draining soils or in a tub use 50/50 of multipurpose compost and something like John Innes 2 with a handful of grit.

Aspect: Semi to full sun in the warmer parts of the garden.
