Sowing Indoors: Sow in seed trays of compost 0.5cm deep and place in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse. Seedlings will usually appear within 14-21 days so keep the seed bed moist. When plants are well established they can be transplanted into large pots or direct outdoors if weather conditions allow.
Sow/Plant outdoors: Cultivate soils to a depth of 15cms and rake the top surface to provide a fine crumb to plant the seeds into. Sow seeds from March to May, thinly and direct into the growing site 1.5m (1/2”) deep in rows 45cm (18″”) apart. If possible sow carefully so that thinning is not necessary.
For the best performance and yield keep well fed and watered over the growing months.
Do not plant if soils are waterlogged.
