Deep red flowers, edged with a golden yellow. Leaves are green. This is probably one of the most popular cannas and is an ideal centre piece in the garden. Canna’s are best started in growth indoors from January to April and planted out in May when the fear of frosts have gone. They like to be well watered during the growing period and also keep well fed with tomotite or rose fertiliser. They are frost tender so will need to be lifted or well protected over the winter period.
Tip: Start off indoors/greenhouse as soon as you can.
Aspect: The sunnier parts of the garden are ideal.
Soil type: Free draining light soils that heat up quickly. Feed often duing the growing season
