Description
Chionodoxa Violet Beauty has bluish violet flowers and makes an excellent garden plant. Chionodoxa Violet Beauty naturalises very well and can be grown in both sun and partial shade. This is a very popular colour for the garden and will stand out in most settings.
Cultivation Instructions:
Cultivate soils to a depth of 15cms and plant bulbs as per the growing information below. In heavy soils such as clay add grit or humus matter to help with drainage. In sandy soils add organic matter to help with fertility.
Protect early growth in the spring from slugs and snails . Ideal foods are well rotted manures, grass clippings, tomato feed and bone meal. Also known as Glory of the Snow as they are so early to flower in the Spring.
Care tips:
They will naturalise very well, plant in most soils that are free draining. In heavier soils such as clay cultivate the top layer of soil and add grit and well rotted humus and this should provide the drainage that they need.
They work really well when planted with snowdrops.
