Description
Hemerocallis Whoppy is a fantastic deep maroon colour with a darker centre and yellow green throat. Each flower lasts only one day – hence the name Day Lily – but the large exotic looking flowers just keep on coming throughout the summer months. Plant amongst shrubs but can also be grown in containers, They can be left undisturbed for many years. Flowers appear July to September and brighten up any garden. Often known as day lilies. Avoid planting in areas of heavy shade or in soils that dry out during the summer months.
Aspect: Semi shade to full sun.
Soil Type: They prefer well drained fertile soil but will also tolerate poor soils and heavy clay soils.
