Hyacinth Outdoor Jan Bos has compact spikes of rich rose red. Highly scented. Ideal for containers in the house or garden and they work really well in the front of borders. A truly spectacular flower. Plant in containers close to the house to enjoy the fragrance and flower florets.
Hyacinths bring a splash of colour in so many different shades to the Spring garden and are so easy to grow.
Hyacinths grown outside can be left undisturbed for a few years. After feeding and flowering let the flowers and leaves die back, remove the dead foliage and flowers and mulch well.
Cultivate the soil to a depth of 20cms and plant bulbs 10cms deep and 8cms apart in moderately fertile soils. Work really well in containers with fragrant daffodils and mid season Tulips such as the double lates.
Aspect: Full sun although happy in shady areas.
Soil type: Free draining moderately fertile soils
New season top quality bulbs supplied from September onwards.
