Description
Hyacinthoides non-scripta alba is the pure white form of the common bluebell and are cultivated for us under license. We have gradually been building up stocks over the years and these will bulk up in the garden over time.
Hyacinthoides non-scripta alba is one of our most popular varieties, this is the common bluebell and not gathered from the wild. Hyacinthoides non-scripta as it is also known has copies that are not true to type. See this article to see the difference here.
Hyacinthoides non-scripta-bluebell as it is also known has copies that are not true to type and as such will not arch over which is the distinct nature of this variety. Bluebells as you would suspect naturalise really well and can be left undisturbed to spread in your own garden. Prefer semi shaded areas and you must ensure they have plenty of well rotted organic matter for them to feed on during the growing season. Use bulb starter to start them off when first planting as this will give them a great start and speed up the naturalising process. Will also work well in planting schemes with snowdrops, blandas, cyclamen and anemone nemerosa.
