Cultivation Instructions
Dutch Iris naturalise and as such will flower for a number of years. Cultivate the soil before planting to a depth of 20cms and dig in plenty of organic matter to provide food in the their first growing year. Bulbs should be planted 10cm deep and 8cms apart in groups of 10 or more for the best effect. Iris Dutch Eye of the Tiger prefer to be grown in full sun although they can be grown in semi shade. Ensure soils are well drained and do not dry out in the summer. Iris also perform really well when planted in containers. Containers can either be used for iris or planted with later flowering bulbs such as lily tulips, perennials or annuals. Allow foliage to die back after flowering, you can remove the leaves when they have turned yellow.
