The flowers are almost black but probably best described as dark maroon and very dramatic.
Asiatic lilies are available in a vast array of colours and this one is probably one of the best and they are easy to grow and will naturalise well in all garden conditions as long as they do not become waterlogged. In wetter soils add a handful of grit to the hole before planting the bulb to provide that extra drainage. Remember to protect the young shoots from slug and pest damage. Like all bulbs they will need to be fed with a high phosphate and potash feed during the flower and leaf stage to ensure they flower in the following years.
