Muscari Grape Ice is a new variety with burgundy purple flowers with a white top.
Muscari are also suitable for growing in containers especially when planted with tulips or daffodils they will provide a bed of blue for the others to grow through. A very common and old variety it has stood the test of time and has been awarded an AGM by the RHS for its outstanding performance in all aspects of the garden. They can be grown in most soil types including of course containers and are a great asset to the garden. Plant 10cm deep and 5cms apart in well drained soil. In heavier soils add grit or ell rotted humus matter to help the water drain away. Lift and divide (when dormant in summer) congested clumps, they will spread easily.
