Narcissi Division 3 Small Cupped Falmouth Bay has pure white flowers with a pale green centre. Small cupped narcissi are very popular because of the delicate looking flowers.
Small cupped daffodils such as Narcissi Division 3 Small Cupped Falmouth Bay are mid season flowering and will come back for many years. Before planting cultivate the soil to a minimum depth of 15-20cms. In heavier soils add in grit or well rotted humus matter to improve the drainage. Plant bulbs 15cms deep and 10-15cms apart with the best effect achieved by growing in groups of 5 or more. Daffodils are really versatile because they can be grown in containers as well as being suited for many soil types and areas in the garden. To ensure they come back year after year they need to be fed during the flowering and leaf stage. Ideal foods are well rotted manures, tomato feed and bone meal.
Do not cut off or tie up the leaves because this will not allow the bulbs to take in nutrients for the following years growth.
These daffodils are ideal to grow with mid season tulips such as Triumph or Darwin tulips.
Narcissi/daffodils are divided into many divisions and split corona varieties are ever increasing in popularity. They can be grown in containers as well as in the garden and can be left to naturalise for a number of years.
