Sunny tulip mix, 30 bulbs 15 each of Limelight and Suncatcher. This sunny tulip mix will add a superb blend of colour to your garden whether grown in containers or any garden setting.
Cultivation Instructions:
Tulips prefer to be planted in soils that are cooling down hence the reason most information will say October onwards. If this is a problem we would suggest the tulips are better in the ground than on a shelf.
Cultivate soils to a depth of 20cms and plant tulips pointed side up 10-15cms deep and 10cms apart. In containers planting distance can be reduced to 5cms. Use Bulb starter with tulips if possible. Tall stem tulips are also excellent for formal bedding schemes and for using as a cut flower. They also work really well in larger containers being a great focal display. In heavier soils add grit and/or well rotted humus or bonemeal to help with drainage. Tulips have become our most popular group for sales as you are able to find all the colours you may need. They also provide a season of flowering from February right through to May.
Plant tulips anytime from Late September through to early December, they prefer to be planted into soils that are cooling down after the summer.
Care tips:
Plant tulips with other late flowering varieties such as Scented daffodils.
Remember to lift tulips at the end of the season. Only the big bulbs should be kept to flower for the following year.
Tulips are often treated as annuals as flowering performance the following year is never as good.
